Meeting Minutes – Tuesday, May 12

Frank welcomed members and guests. Thanks for coming out!
We had 15 members and 1 guest at the meeting. Carroll Anderson, Frank Baker, Earl Chesley, Dave Desmarais, Rich & Lynn Hoff, Rick Parrish, Jim & Linda Riggs, Butch & Sissy Riley, Frank A. Smith, John Stein, Ed & Marsha Zimmerman. Guest: Sue Dudley with Rick Parrish.
We approved the April 14, 2009 meeting minutes as posted on the website and published in the April newsletter.
Treasurer’s Report was given by Carroll Anderson
Web Master’s Report – Sissy Riley. Visit our website at www.hmccc.50G.com. Sissy keeps the website updated with new photos, flyers, and a calendar of events. .
Newsletter Editor’s Report – Carroll Anderson. Submissions to the May newsletter should be made by May 20.
Announcements:
- Saturday, May 16 - several area car clubs are getting together with the Maryland Sheriffs Boys Ranch to discuss a joint hosting of a benefit car show, perhaps in September or October. Meeting is at noon. Ed will try to attend. Contact: Jerry Hymiller of Golden Gears at 240-446-1480. The best dates for us are Sept 26, Sept 27 or Oct 3. We prefer a Saturday if possible.
- Golden Gears Car Club will host a car show at Worman’s Mill NAPA on June 20. Details will be in the newsletter.
- Rick Parrish invited us to a car show “Fissel’s 50’s Flashback” in Glen Rock, PA on Saturday, Aug 1. We decided it sounds like fun and we’d like to attend as a group.
- Rich & Lynn Hoff and Jack & Linda Flood attended the new 2010 Camaro Reveal at Winn Kelly Chevrolet. It was a very nice event with good food.
Old Business:
- There was no old business to review.
New Business:
- We received an email regarding using old cars in movies. Individuals can contact Vivian Tran at AsianBoston vivian@asianboston.com. www.asianboston.com. 617.275.4249 if they are interested in having a casting representative.
Monthly Committee Reports:
- T-shirt Design – Sissy Riley & Linda Riggs – DONE!
- Frederick Flea Market March 27-28 – Jim Riggs. DONE!
- Spring Cruise – May 2 – Marsha Zimmerman. DONE! GREAT TIME – thanks, Marsha!
- Barefoot Bernies Cruise In – May 30 – Earl Chesley
We must be at Barefoot Bernies by 9:00 am to set up.
Earl will meet with Cindy at Barefoot Bernies on May 19
Earl will work up a set-up plan so we know where to park cars, set up tables & tents, etc.
Janet will pick up the sound system from Makin’ Music on Friday evening.
- Celebrate Damascus –July 11 - Butch Riley with help from Dave Desmarais
Next committee meetings are Thursday, May 14 and then June 11
Linda will sign us up to participate in the parade
- Alzheimers Show – September 20 – Earl Chesley
Earl is working on the program. If you know of anyone who would like to have an ad in the program, please contact Earl. We have started to receive registrations and donations for the show.
- Club Picnic – Paul & Lynda Schneider. August 22.
- Fall Cruise- October 10-11- Linda Riggs. Linda encouraged everyone to make their hotel reservations.
- Christmas Party – December 5 – Linda Riggs

50/50 Drawing - $9 was won by Frank Baker. Congrats!
We wished several members Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary.
Members were encouraged to take flyers for our upcoming events to hand out at any shows or cruises they attend.
