- Vivian Tran of AsianBoston Casting and Media Agency, Boston, MA contacted HMCCC re: representing members. She says: “As you may realize, cars, especially vintage type automobiles, are at a high demand when it comes to casting projects. As many of our clients come to us to seek rare vehicles, we are constantly seeking car owners who love to showcase their cars or even make some supplementary income simply for owning that special automobile.” There’s no cost to participate, only a 10% commission if and when one of your members’ vehicles is booked for a casting. Contact: Vivian Tran, AsianBoston, e-mail: vivian@asianboston.com, visit: www.asianboston.com or call 617.275.4249.
- We could use donated items for door prizes and auction items for our shows. If you have new or like new items, please bring them to a meeting, to the Club Picnic on August 22 or to Goodie Bag Stuffing on September 18 at the Zimmerman’s. If you got something for a birthday or Christmas that has you scratching your head “what were they thinking?”, perhaps you’d like to donate it! They do not have to be car related, but they do have to be new or like new! Or an antique or collectible item for the auction. Thanks!
- Every October, several HMCCC members go shopping for Care Package items for troops in Iran and Iraq. We assemble the packages and Sissy takes them in to work to be shipped out. One of the items that troops have requested in the care packages is paperback books – mostly mysteries. Since books can be very expensive, if you have a couple paperbacks in great condition that you have read and are ready to get rid of, we would welcome them! Please bring them to any meeting by the October 13 meeting. Thanks for your help in supporting our troops!
- Time to put on your thinking caps! In October, we will nominate officers for 2010-2011. If you would like to be an officer, the qualifications are pretty simple - any member in good standing shall be eligible to hold one of the offices. To be a member in good standing, any member must attend a minimum of eight (8) meetings and/or official club events per year. Official club events consist of regularly scheduled and publicized car shows. We need a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Sergeant at Arms. If you are interested in running for office, please speak to Linda Riggs and she’ll fill you in on the duties for each office.
Our condolences to Gary & Paula Ruby upon the passing of Gary’s mother on June 4.
