July 10 – Celebrate Damascus Parade – We have registered to participate in the parade – please be at Damascus High School on Friday, July 10 between 6:00 and 6:15 to line up for the parade!  Afterwards, stay at the Activities Grounds to enjoy the music and fireworks.  You can purchase dinner from the Damascus Volunteer Fire Dept.

July 11 – Celebrate Damascus Cruise In – Set up starts at 7:00 am!  Don’t forget to wear your bright green convention t-shirts so they can spot us in the crowd!

Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club will start setting up our tents, tables and stuff at 7:00 am to present the 16th Annual Celebrate Damascus Cruise-In at Damascus VFD Activities Grounds, 10201 Lewis Drive, Damascus (NOTE NEW LOCATION!).  Our duties that day include: registering the cars & trucks for the Cruise-In (no registration fee!); parking cruisers; selling 50/50 raffle tickets; doing a Chinese Auction; selling Alzheimer's raffle tickets; and selling those great-looking t-shirts.  We need your help that day and hope that you can spare some time to come out and give us a hand!  If possible, please wear your lime green HMCCC convention tee to make us easier to spot!  Thanks!  Please give Linda Riggs a call at 301-829-0171 or riggs57@comcast.net if you need some flyers, or log onto  www.hmccc.50G.com to download a flyer!

July 14-19 – CCI Convention.  Several HMCCC members are planning to attend the 2009 CCI Convention in Chicago.  It is approximately a 700 mile drive.  We plan to leave on Monday July 13 at 8:00 am from Mount Airy and arrive in Arlington Heights, IL on Tuesday, July 14 in the afternoon.

We have made reservations at the Days Inn in Fremont (phone: 419-334-9551) for Monday night, July 13 and for our return trip on Sunday night, July 19.

SATURDAY, JULY 18 - HMCCC members have been invited to the Golden Gears Car Club picnic at Rocky Ridge Park from noon to ???  Please let Linda Riggs know if you can attend (bring a covered dish) so she can let Golden Gears know how many HMCCC members will be there.  This park is great family fun with a neat wooden slide and lots of shade and play equipment.  So far, I have heard from Rick Parrish that he will be attending – how about you?  Please let me know!  You can check it out and get directions at: http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/16438.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 1 – Fissel’s 50’s Flashback, 3426 Fissel’s Church Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327.  This sound s like a fun event with hula hoop contests, ice cream eating contest, limbo, karaoke and more!  No admission fee, hourly door prizes, trophies awarded, music, food.  Rain or shine.  1:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  717-235-2033.  Several of us would like to plan to cruise up together.  We’ll meet at the Mount Airy Burger King at 11:30 and head up for a great time!  Many thanks to Rick Parrish for the invite!

OCTOBER 10-11 – FALL CRUISE!  This year, we will be returning to the Apple Scrapple Festival in Bridgeville, DE.  When we went in 2007, we had a fantastic time and scored some great buys!  Registration for the Car Show is $10.  We have 10 rooms blocked at the Days Inn, 420 N.
