HMCCC Spring Cruise May 11

Road Kill Cafe, 633 Crooked Run Rd Artemas, PA

May 11—HMCCC Spring Cruise to Roadkill Café. A herd of us met at the Mt. Airy Burger King and headed West to pick up more members. The morning was overcast but nice, but the forecast was for worse weather later. And sure enough, as the day progressed we were in and out of sunshine alternating with rain. But everyone agreed that it was just great to get together and be out and about no matter what the weather was!

Butch led us over the mountains and thru the woods to Road Kill Café where we enjoyed a great lunch and ice cream. Then on to Hancock to a flea market/antique mall and more. Then we cruised down to Hagerstown to their cruise night at Valley Mall – by that time the skies were pretty clear, but the organizers had decided to pack it up for the evening. Well, we cruised down to Frederick for Golden Gears Cruise Night at Westview Promenade, but the Golden Gears had packed it up, too! We hung around visiting for a while and some other cruisers showed up, too. After a while, we headed for home or out for a bite to eat.

On the way out, Ed & Marsha somehow drove over something and got a flat tire on the Nomad. Fortunately, Krysta had a jack (courtesy of the HMCCC Christmas Party gift table!) and Butch had a patch kit. And a nice guy with an air compressor stopped to give us a hand. Problem cured! It ended up being a really great day!

Along on this cruise, Jim & Linda in their ’63 Olds convertible, Frank & Bev in their Camaro convertible, Frank & Alice in their ’48 Chevy Pickup, Krysta in her ’71 Chevelle, Butch & Sissy in Reddawg ’57, Ed & Marsha in their ’55 Nomad, John & Janet in their ’57 Chevy and Gary & Teresa in new steel.
