2011 Hemmings Motor News Concours D'elegance at Stratford Mountain, Vermont

This past weekend I was invited to display my '55 210 Hardtop at the 2011 Hemmings Motor News Concours D'elegance at Stratford Mountain, Vermont. The event honored several marques and categories of motor vehicles including a tribute to the 100th anniversary of Chevrolet for which Hemmings invited my car.

Included are images of the many fine Chevrolets appearing on the show field on Sunday. The best of show Chevrolet was the Camaro in image #2795. Second place went to the Corvette in image #2802.

Best of show overall was the one hundred year old but freshly restored 1911 Packard at image #2852.

Of particular note to those interested in late sixties Chevelles take a look at the 1967 Beaumont at images 2864-67. This car is a Canadian built variant of the Chevelle but the contains zero Chevrolet or Chevelle nomenclature. To me it actually looked more like a Pontiac.

Other non Chevy vehicles pictured are some of the other class winners. The Buick woody was best wagon followed by the Desoto Fireflight. Of particular note the '70's Volvo P1800 is documented as the highest mileage car on the planet at 2.9 million miles (yes if the odometer is 5 digits it would have turned over 29 times).

The green Alpine (The Maxwell Smart car) won first place in its category and is owned by a couple from Pylesville, Maryland in Harford County.
