Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club is a not for profit organization formed in March, 1993 to establish an association of members for the purpose of encouraging restoration, preservation and enjoyment of 1955 through 1957 Chevrolet automobiles, including trucks and Corvettes.  Our dues are $20.00 annually – due in January of each year. Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club is incorporated in the State of Maryland.

Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club is local chapter #96031 of Classic Chevy International,

5140 W. Washington Avenue, Titusville, FL  32780. Website: www.ClassicChevy.com. Membership at $39.99 per year in CCI is optional, but encouraged.

The members of Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club host several car and truck shows every year, including Celebrate Damascus Cruise-In at Damascus Chevrolet in July, and the Alzheimers Association Benefit Car & Truck Show at Frederick MVA each September.  In June 1997, Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club hosted the first unjudged convention for Classic Chevy International at the Urbana Carnival Grounds south of Frederick. In July 2007, Heart of Maryland hosted the 33rd Annual Classic Chevy International Convention in Hagerstown.  Each spring, we have a “dust off” cruise, in August we have a club picnic, in the fall we have a weekend cruise, and we have a Christmas Party in December.  In addition, members support other local car clubs by attending local car shows and cruise nights.  Members also try to attend as many national conventions as possible.  We have received club participation awards at many local shows and several national events.

In 1998, 2001 and 2005, Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club earned runner-up in the Eastern Division of the prestigious Golden Rule Award presented by Eagle One Products.  In 2007, Heart of Maryland was named the winner in the Eastern Division.  In 2001, Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club was named a Hobby Hero by Hemmings Motor News.  These national awards were presented in recognition of our community service, donations and promotion of the vintage car hobby.

Every show or cruise-in hosted by Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club is a family event, and participation of the members’ whole family is encouraged.  Net proceeds from our Alzheimers Association Benefit Car & Truck Show have amounted to over $152,500 in fifteen years.  This fun show features activities for children and a spirited auction as well as oldies music and the show, which attracts cars and trucks of all makes.  We support many local and regional charities with proceeds from our fund-raising activities.

Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club meets the second Tuesday of each month, with special meetings called as necessary.  Our meetings are usually held at the offices of Frall Developers, Inc., 13992 Penn Shop Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771.  From Rte. 70, take the Mt. Airy/Damascus exit and head south towards Damascus on Rte. 27. Immediately just past the Exxon station, turn right onto Penn Shop Road. Office is the first building on the right.

We publish a monthly newsletter for members with a review of past events, upcoming events, conventions, shows and cruises, items for sale, and member news.  Member contributions to the newsletter are appreciated and encouraged.  We also host a webpage at www.hmccc.50G.com, updated monthly.

We invite you to become a member of Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club and join in the fun!  Please feel free to call Linda Riggs at 301-829-0171 or write to her at 13050 Penn Shop Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771 if you would like further information.
